Today I have some great news for you. If you are a cooperating State Convention of Baptists in Indiana Church you can secure access to MinistrySafe’s online resources and training for only $50! A Cooperating Church is one that submits an “Annual Church Profile” (ACP) and gives through the Cooperative Program to support the work of SCBI and the SBC here and around the World. If you have any questions about being a Cooperating Church contact Michelle Hillard.
I hope to be very plain here. Most church leaders are highly uninformed about what is needed to protect the children in their care. The scary thing is most believe they are already doing what they need to do. “We have policies and procedures.” “We do background checks and have secure areas!”
Those things are important, but they only keep out predators that are not on the “inside.” You do know, don’t you, that the vast majority of sexual predators are just that – people that the victim and those around the victim know and trust?
We have to understand this – sexual predators look just like us. They are helpful, kind and earn the trust of those around them so they can get to be where and with whom they desire.
The key to defending our children is to understand what a predator’s actions will be in advance of the eventual attack. This is called, “grooming.” The MinistrySafe training can help your team know what “grooming” looks like so when they see it they can protect the children in their care from “wolves in sheep’s clothing.” I hope you will sign-up for MinistrySafe.
Here is how to get the discount: When you sign-up on the MinistrySafe website you will have a place to insert a coupon code – call our office for the coupon code. This will bring your price down from $250 to $50! You will have access to MinistrySafe’s Document Library so you can work out your policies and procedures but more importantly, you will be able to have an unlimited number of people take the online Abuse Awareness Training through July 31, 2019.
Let’s get this right. Let’s do everything we can. The question isn’t, “Who should take the training?” The question is, “Who should not?”
The Church and Leader Development Team is here to help. Call, email or text. It’s up to you.
