Churches helping churches and churches coming alongside churches. These are two key values that we work with at your State Convention office.

The overarching goal of the Mile Markers 2025 Vision is that we would choose to cooperate together by churches helping churches. No matter which of the eight Markers you work on, we all accomplish more when we work together by churches helping other churches.

When we do this we create a great picture of the local church. I Cor 12:12 tells us, “For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body though many, are one body – so also is Christ.”

As the local church, your people minister to and with each other so that the Gospel of Jesus can be shared in your community. This work multiplies all over the state every week as churches just like yours seek to take Jesus into your community. Your church ministers to each other, disciples each other, build relationships with each other, worships God with each other and all of the other aspects of the church. You do it together! For each other and for the Glory of God.

That is what the state convention is! It is the combination of all of our 445 local church ministries, serving each other, training with each other, being on mission together, finding a few unique times during a year to worship together and bringing Glory to God.

Coming alongside churches is a philosophy that we believe in that says, we exist to help our churches accomplish what God is leading them to do. It is the goal and desire of your SCBI staff to help you get to where God is leading you. Let’s work together to discover what God is doing and then join Him in that journey.

As your church works together for the Glory of God and the furtherance of the gospel, you experience the value of depending on the Lord and then on each other. God made us to be in two relationships, “to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and all your mind, AND love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt 22:37-39).

My dream is to see our SCBI churches realize that we need each other and God expects us to be in a relationship with HIM and with each other. May God show Himself strongest as His church serves Him by serving each other to reach our world for Christ.

Until Next Time,

Steve
