Grace in Evansville began a ministry on North Garvin Street on January 22, 1922. A 100th Anniversary celebration was held the weekend of July 30th-31st. Members past and present came together for a Saturday afternoon reception enjoying a time of fellowship and reminiscing. Sunday started with a combined adult Sunday School class led by Dr. Ryan Strother, SCBI Executive Director. Dr. Mark Hearn, Grace Senior Pastor 1992 – 1997, brought the morning message and Bill Burk, the longtime Grace member, shared his testimony. Special music was provided by the Grace Adult Choir and local Gospel Artist, Jordan Duncan. The service concluded with Senior Pastor Ray Deeter filling the jug signifying the 2 for 1 Centennial Campaign had surpassed the goal of $200,000.00 for 100 years. These funds were used to replace the sanctuary roof and re-pave the parking lot. The first part of 2022 Grace has celebrated the past and now turns its attention to “Continuing to Serve Till Jesus Comes! Pressing Forward To Those Things Which Are ahead” Philippians 3:13-14.
