SCBI appreciates and cares about our bi-vocational pastors and their families!  This year we will host our second annual Bi-vocational Pastors and Wives Retreat on March 24-25 at Highland Lakes Camp.  The theme of the event will be “Encouraged and Strengthened for the Mission.”

Our guest speakers will be Terry and Kelly Thompson. Terry served as Lead Pastor of Rock Point Church in Crawfordsville IN for twenty-four years, leading that church from a struggling church of twenty people to a thriving church of over one thousand in Sunday morning worship.  He is a certified leadership coach and has personally worked with hundreds of pastors and ministry leaders. In addition to Kelly’s experience as a pastor’s wife and ministering to women in one-on-one as small group settings, she is an office manager, who runs her own business from home and loves her role as “Grammy” to their six grandchildren. Terry and Kelly are the founders of Small Church USA, and they partner with organizations and churches from across the country which need revitalization assistance.

The retreat begins in the Highland Lakes Welcome Center on Friday with 6:30 PM check-in, and the program starts at 7:00 PM (Dinner will not be provided at the camp that evening).  There will be large group sessions, breakout sessions for pastors and wives, and fellowship opportunities with other bi-vocational ministry couples.  The program will conclude on Saturday at 12:45 PM after lunch.  All couples will receive a free copy of Kelly’s book entitled, Pastor’s Wife Survival Playbook: A Thriving Marriage & Ministry in the Mayhem.

The cost for this event will be $120 per couple for accommodations, meals and program. Registration will open on January 15 through the Events Page on our SCBI website at https://scbi.org/event-info/

We hope you’ll participate in this great opportunity for some refreshment, for making friends with others in ministry, and for receiving valuable resources to strengthen your family and ministry.
