Bob Weeks has notified the Board of Directors of the Baptist Foundation of Indiana (BFI) that he is resigning from his position of President effective September 30, 2023, due to some health issues. Weeks noted, “I enjoyed my time at the Foundation and am looking forward to what happens next.”
Weeks started as BFI President June 22, 2022, in a new format in partnership with WatersEdge Ministry Services. As the BFI’s primary service provider, WatersEdge offers a suite of services to Indiana Baptists, from estate planning, scholarships, and charitable giving for families and individuals, to loans, investments and accounting services for churches and ministries. Robert Kellogg, CEO of WatersEdge, commented to Dr. Ryan Strother, SCBI Executive Director, how pleased he has been with Weeks as BFI President and how eager WatersEdge is to continue the partnership with BFI. Weeks introduced and educated many SCBI churches to the offerings of BFI.
“He has served faithfully and effectively,” Strother celebrated. “It is hard to think of candidates who will perform in this role as well as Bob did, but the Lord knows what the BFI and our churches need. I’m thankful Bob is prioritizing his health and family, and SCBI churches should be thankful for his work.”
Consequently, the BFI will begin searching for the next President immediately. It is a part-time role that will require someone who is a relationship builder. Specifically, relationships with SCBI pastors and churches. It especially fits with a former pastor who already has connections throughout our state, although that is not a requirement.
If that is you or you know someone that fits this role please reach out to BFI’s Board Chairman, Nick Kessler (nkessler@oakhillbc.org) for a job description and more information.
Rest assured that the BFI is here to serve you and your church during the transition to new leadership. Visit the BFI website at Inbaptistfoundation.org.
