Serving Indiana with Missions-Fueled Hearts
By Jerry Miller
What is Campers on Mission?
Campers on Mission was developed by the North American Mission Board many years ago and has evolved into a non-denominational group with Biblical truths consistent with the original chapter developed by NAMB. There are many mission projects that are covered by Campers on Mission from VBS, construction crews, campground ministries, small church projects, and many others too numerous to mention. They are a self-funded, non-profit group of mostly retired men and women who like camping, fellowship, and are mission-minded. But, owning a camper is not a must. Almost all the camps they use have rooms available for those without RVs. If you fit into this category and would like more information, contact information can be found below.
How are Campers on Mission serving in Indiana?
Indiana Campers on Mission are currently serving four Christian camps in Indiana (spring and fall) and other projects that may arise. A group from both Indiana and Kentucky recently served at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp in Martinsville, IN. They did many different projects around the camp and enjoyed fellowship with each other.
What is coming in 2024?
The Indiana Chapter of Campers on Mission has the privilege of hosting the 2024 National Campers on Mission Rally June 3rd-7th in Elkhart, IN. They were asked to host the 2024 Rally because of the SBC Annual Meeting being held in Indianapolis in 2024. Many of the groups from other states mentioned the fact that it would be easier to attend both because of the travel time and distance. This event will be an added expense to the group. If your church or an individual would like to help Indiana Campers on Mission with a donation to help offset the expenses for the national rally, it would be greatly appreciated.
