Recalling God’s goodness is a practice that would be refreshing to every believer. This is especially true for a pastor and his family when they are exhausted from ministry. Pastors have busy schedules, sometimes multiple jobs, and often don’t take many breaks. Pastors’ families serve their churches weekly on top of busy school schedules and extracurricular activities. We know that the job of a pastor and the work of his family is important work, but we also know it is often hard. Sometimes the best remedy is a weekend away to rest and reflect on all the amazing things God has done; while of course having tons of fun together!
This is why the SCBI (State Convention of Baptists in Indiana) is hosting its first annual Pastor’s Family Retreat at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp in May 2024. The theme of the retreat is “Recalling God’s Goodness” and will be centered around Psalm 77:11-12. The retreat will include rest, fun, games, breakout sessions, worship, and small group times to receive support and prayer. It will be a time when pastors and their families can feel loved, encouraged, and poured into.
Friday, May 24th will begin with early bird sessions before our main session that evening. There will also be the option to come on Thursday, May 23rd for an extra night to relax as a family before the retreat begins on Friday. The retreat will conclude with dinner on Saturday, May 25th.
We are still working out the final details but would love for pastors and their families to join us for this exciting and refreshing weekend as we recall God’s goodness in their lives, their family, and their church.
