Disaster Relief is off to a great start in 2024! On February 2-3, volunteers were invited to attend Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) training in partnership with the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Disaster Relief team. Butch Porter, Director of Indiana Disaster Relief, traveled in January 2024 to the National Disaster Relief Round Table in Newark, DE where he connected with other state directors. In addition to these events, the first DR training of 2024 is going to be hosted on February 10th in New Albany, IN in partnership with the Southeastern Association. (For more information, see the attached flyer.)

As we look back over the past two years of tremendous growth in the Indiana Disaster Relief ministry, Butch wanted to share an interesting statistic. In 2022, our small convention in Indiana performed one-third of all mold remediation requests in the state of Florida!

Butch Porter would also like to share several praise reports for the leaders of Disaster Relief. Our Shower and Laundry Coordinator, Randy Vandemark, who is battling cancer has had positive reports from his doctors recently and is making slow but steady progress. Please continue to pray for him and his wife. A second praise report is our Flood Recovery Coordinator, Joe Fox, is doing much better and is on the mend. Thank you for your continued prayers for this important ministry and its leadership.
