On January 18th-20th over 800 exhibitors, speakers and youth ministry workers from all over the country flocked through the snow and ice to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the annual Youth Ministry Conclave Conference. Conclave is a collaborative conference put on by 9 different SBC state conventions focused on encouraging and equipping youth ministry workers from all walks of life. They do this through worship services, breakouts, and exhibit halls featuring seminaries, mission organizations, and church resources from all over the country.

This year, SCBI officially became the ninth state convention to join the Conclave conference planning committee. We are on this committee because we believe in events that will refresh and equip our Youth Pastors and workers. Connecting for kingdom advancement is what we do and we believe connecting with other states to put on this conference each year gives our youth ministers something to look forward to for years to come!

The theme for Conclave this year was “Limitless” and we were reminded that the God we serve is capable of more than we can ask, think, or imagine in every one of our ministries regardless of what challenges we may face! We learned practical tips for effectively building and sustaining a student ministry that glorifies God while meeting students where they are at! Those of us who attended Conclave from Indiana were also refreshed by the fellowship we had with one another while eating at just a few of the many fine eating establishments in Chattanooga! We were greatly encouraged by one another, and we know that God was glorified!
