Prayer Coordinator at Living Word Baptist Church

The Importance of prayer is to know GOD.

It is the opportunity to give God praises, to praise Him, to worship Him, to thank Him for His goodness, to thank Him for His faithfulness. The opportunity to thank Him for loving us so. The opportunity to thank Him for the forgiveness of sins. (Psalms 100, and Psalms 150)

Prayer is an open (free will) communication with God, through the Son of God, Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. It is our opportunity to invite God into our hearts in every situation that we are in because God desires a relationship with us. Your prayer time can be one-on-one time with God, or we can communicate with Him through corporate prayer, in Jesus’ name.

We can talk to GOD anytime we want, which is all the time.

The importance of prayer is being intentional (on purpose). Spending quality time with God is so important!

The importance of prayer is faith; faith is the assurance (the declaration; the guarantee that God is with us), our trust, our desire to trust God (to believe that His word is true). Faith is our confidence in Him; standing on His promises. Even through our brokenness, He is present, and He is faithful. Through faith, He will give us the strength to endure through it all, the good and the bad. The importance of prayer is that God will give us peace in the middle of our storm. He gives us joy, unspeakable joy.

God knows who we are. The question is, do we know who we are in Him? The importance of prayer is the opportunity to know God through the word of God, the Bible. He knows who we are, and He (God) wants us to know Him, to know His son Jesus, and the resurrection, and the power of the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. God invites us in to have a relationship with Him through faith and our prayer life.

There is Power in prayer: (James 5: 13-16)

Pray Always, Pray Constantly. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-22)

To God be the Glory for this opportunity to share about the Prayer Ministry at Living Word Baptist Church, under the leadership and direction of Rev. Dr. Reginald B. Fletcher.

At Living Word Baptist Church our mission is:

  1. Empowering the Community,
  2. Exalting the Savior,
  3. Equipping the Saints,
  4. Evangelizing the Sinners,
  5. Enlightening the hearts and minds to the Glory of God.

The prayer ministry mission is:

Pray at all times, in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all saints. (Ephesians 6:18)

Our prayer team meets on Zoom with intercessory prayer time. (Romans 8: 26)

The opportunity for a prayer request is given; to call for prayer or send in your prayer request during worship and or Bible study.

Pastor Fletcher shares with us weekly, “With little prayer, there is little power, but with much prayer, we have much power, because we serve a God with ALL POWER in heaven and earth”.

Jesus said this is how we should pray: (Matthew 6:9-13)

This, then, is how you should pray: (Holman Christian Standard Bible).

“Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as Holy. Your Kingdom come. Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Amen!”

To God be the Glory!
