This past week myself and numerous others from within our state had the opportunity to run the SCBI booth at SBC Annual Meeting in Indianapolis. It was joy to be able to represent our state convention and Connect for Kingdom Advancement with Southern Baptists from all around the world. Our theme was Victory Lane, which incorporated racing while celebrating all the great works God is doing throughout our state and within our country. Well over 1000 people stopped by our booth and wrote down a victory that God has done in their life or ministry within the last year. Having individuals write these victories down opened the door for us to celebrate with them how God has provided. Paul writes to us in 1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We celebrate all of things that God is accomplishing throughout His kingdom.

We are also grateful to have been able to partner with Allen Huffman and his ministry for the convention. Allen is a race truck driver from Hickory, NC and owns NCN Ministries that focuses in on sharing the gospel through racing. Allen was an asset to our booth, as he allowed us to use one of his race trucks as a showpiece. Throughout the week people would come to the booth and ask about the truck, our “Pray for Indiana churches” t-shirts, and to write their victories down. This allowed us to fully partner together and share about his ministry; while he would graciously explain that he was partnered with SCBI and tell people all of what we are doing as a State Convention. Two of the things we hear our SCBI leadership speak about are Partnering in the Gospel and Connecting for Kingdom Advancement. This partnership between SCBI and NCN Ministries was a shining example of these. Through the conversations that were had by both Allen and his team, and our SCBI staff and volunteers in the booth, the Gospel was proclaimed, and we were able to connect with other ministry leaders all throughout our country for Kingdom Advancement.

I do want to take time to thank all the SCBI staff and volunteers for all their hard work & preparation in putting together the booth, time volunteering in the booth, time praying over the booth, and for leading our State Convention well. I also want to thank you, Indiana Baptists. Your willingness to serve during Crossover and during the convention, again was a shining example of how we are Partnering in the Gospel and for Kingdom Advancement!
